Your Air Conditioner’s Warranty
When you first purchased the air conditioner, how many of us actually go through the warranty card? We guess none of us actually did and to summarise it, most companies usually cover the parts for a year. But, do you know most of the common brands actually provide up to 5 years’ warranty for its compressor when you purchased a unit with 1.0 -6.0 horse power.
Therefore, if your air conditioner is not working due to its’ compressor, remember to send it back to the manufacturer. The claim for the faulty compressor is usually free of charge if it is within the warranty period and user will only need to bear the labour cost for the replacement. If you suspect a faulty compressor, always remember the first step is to contact the dealer where you purchased your air conditioner from. Inform them about the defect and provide them with the serial number together with your warranty card (if any).

Checking the Age of the Air Conditioner

The answer is by referring to the serial number of your air conditioner.

Year of Merdeka (YM): 1957
Current Year (CY): 2018
CY-YM: 61
Using 61 to minus the two digit (BOLD) in your SN. Therefore, the age of your air conditioner is 7 years. Try it out!
