1. Turn Off the Main Switch Before Switching Off Your AC
Woke up in the morning, feeling lazy, you straightaway switch off the main power instead of using the AC remote. Does this sounds familiar? When you switch off the AC using the power button on remote control, the unit will take a few seconds to shut down the compressor safely and closes the open flaps of the indoor unit. So, if you use the main power switch directly, the AC will consider it as power outage. The next time you run the AC, it will take a longer time to start up. In long run, you will risk damaging the compressor due to improper shut down.
2. Ignoring Their Welfare
You notice that your AC is letting out loud noise. However, you choose to ignore it as you are busy with your upcoming project and you tend to forget about it. Till one night, when you are about to doze off, suddenly your AC broke down. You engaged the technician, but it is too late. Your AC is certified dead and now, you need to fork out additional moolah for a new unit!
3. Choosing the Cheapest Serviceman

5. Skipping the Annual Servicing
We know everybody did this! I just skip once or twice, how bad can it be. Fret not, nothing bad will happen. It will only cause the hike in your electric bill (due to inefficient AC), shorten the lifespan of your AC (zero servicing equals to dirty coils and leads to higher energy costs, thus reduce the life of the unit) and high likelihood of your AC breaking down.
